1. Rétrospective
Since January 2023, we have been switching our «Essentiels» and «Signatures» wine ranges to lightweight glass bottles. At the beginning of November, this corresponded to 27.7 tonnes less glass consumed. Equivalent to 22.5 tonnes of CO2 not emitted into the atmosphere, or 22 return flights from Paris to New York.
2. Brotte Wine Museum
The Brotte Wine Museum has been awarded the Quality Tourism state label.
This label selects and unites under a single symbol the quality initiatives undertaken to ensure customer satisfaction in hotels, tourist residences, holiday villages, campsites, restaurants, cafés and brasseries, seasonal rental agencies, tourist offices, places to visit and outdoor activities.
It is a sign of recognition for establishments that offer quality services, which customers can choose with confidence.
3. Winegrowing
IGP méditerranée 2023 Focus :
For several years now, we’ve been making progress in the vinification of rosés by acting directly on the colour, aroma and balance on the palate.
For the 2023 vintage, with the help of our consultant oenologist, Vincent Hudon, a specialist in rosés, we took direct action on these three parameters by adding no sulphites until the end of alcoholic fermentation, sharply reducing dissolved oxygen as soon as we received the harvest and working with the lees to improve balance on the palate.
The wines are now resting peacefully at a temperature of 12°C until they are bottled in December.
4. Wine of the month
Châteauneuf-du-Pape – Domaine Barville – Roussanne- 2022 (white)
A smaller production release based on 100% Roussanne, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Domaine Barville Roussanne has a lively gold hue as well as awesome aromatics of white peach, flower oil, toasted bread, and assorted spicy, honeyed orange-like nuances. Rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, it has a layered, opulent mouthfeel, a terrific sense of freshness, and a great finish. It’s a powerful yet seamless, incredibly impressive Roussanne that I would lean toward drinking over the coming 3-4 years or so.
